What is the CPG and healthcare module?
In addition to the main survey, around half of GWI USA respondents complete a second survey focusing on CPG and healthcare. Both these surveys are mobile-friendly and can be taken on any device. By splitting the survey in two, we're able cover a large number of subjects without exhausting our respondents.
What does this mean for users?
As all respondents who’ve taken the CPG and healthcare module have also completed the main GWI USA survey, all questions from both surveys can be used with each other. Questions which appear in the CPG and healthcare module are marked with an asterisk (*) on the platform.
Additionally, both surveys are weighted to represent the same overall number of internet users aged 16+. However, because only half of GWI USA respondents complete the second survey, responses from this section will have a greater weight applied to them.
This can sometimes mean that a data point from the CPG and healthcare module has a higher universe figure but a lower sample size than a data point from the main survey. This is not something to be concerned about, as both surveys have large and robust samples. The calculations that make this work are completed seamlessly in the platform, meaning no action is required of users.
Can I apply a base of CPG and healthcare module respondents only, should I need to?
If having a consistent base is your priority, or if you'd like to replicate the calculations done seamlessly by the platform, you can filter out anyone who didn’t take this GWI USA component by applying a base of CPG and healthcare module respondents selecting the relevant audience size in the "Survey Details" folder.
