You’ve got a number of different viewing options when using Charts. These include:
- Changing the chart view
- Choosing the primary metric
- Hiding individual metrics
- Changing the order
- Switching segmentation
Changing the chart view
There are two different chart views available within Charts:
- Bar Chart Horizontal
- Table View
Bar Chart Horizontal is the default.
To change the chart type:
Step one: Select “Chart view” from above the chart on the right-hand side of the screen. This opens a dropdown menu.
Step two: Select the viewing option you want.
Choosing the primary metric
By default, your data is charted and sorted by Audience %.
To change this, click on the metric title at the top of the chart and select a different primary metric.
Hiding individual metrics
You can hide specific metrics from being displayed both in the platform and your data exports.
By default the displayed metrics are:
- Audience %
- Data Point %
- Universe
- Index
- Responses
To toggle a metric on/off:
Step one: Select the metrics option from above your chart on the right-hand side of the screen. This opens a new Choose Metrics window.
Step two: Select or deselect each of the five metrics by clicking the check box on the left of the metric definitions. By default, all five metrics are selected.
Step three: Click the pink Apply option at the bottom of the window to update your chart.
Changing the order
You can sort data in three ways:
- Ascending by primary metric
- Descending by primary metric
- Reset
By default data is sorted in the order you added/selected your attributes.
To change the order:
Step one: Select the Sort by option from above your chart on the right-hand side of the screen. A dropdown menu of options opens.
Step two: Select either Sort Descending or Sort Ascending. You can also choose to reset your chart to view your data points in the order they were originally added to your chart.
Switching Segmentation
When using segments, you can split the chart by data points.
To switch the segmentation:
Step One: Select the Segment by option from above the chart of the right-hand side of the screen. This opens an options menu from the right.
Step two: Either select a whole option category by clicking the blank circle to the left of the segment, or open up the segment dropdown by clicking on the category. Opening the dropdown means you can select individual segments using the check box. Please note that you can only segment by a single category. Once you’ve selected a segment, click the pink Apply button below the categories to update your chart.
Step three: Use the arrows at the bottom right of your chart to filter through your segments.
