Any audiences you create are saved under “My Audiences” in the Audience Builder database. From here, you can edit, duplicate, group and delete audiences as your needs change. This article explains how to manage your audiences.
Editing an audience
Under “My Audiences”, click the icon and select “Edit”:
This takes you to the audience editor, where you can add attributes, change your Include/Exclude and And/Or statements, and check on sample sizes. For example:
Creating a group/folder
Click on the checkboxes for the audiences you’d like to group together. A new dialog box appears which includes a “Create group” option. Click that, then d give the newly created group an appropriate name and click Save.
Previewing an audience
Click on thebutton and then click “Preview audience”. You’ll see a preview of your audience, including all its groups and attributes, giving you a quick idea of how it was created. You can make further changes using the top right “Edit” option, which takes you to the audience editor.
Duplicating an audience
Click thebutton and then click “Duplicate”. This creates a copy of the audience in your My Audiences list. Being able to duplicate an audience like this is really handy when you need to create multiple audiences that are similar - just make as many copies as you need, tweak the relevant attributes, and you’re done.
Moving an audience to a folder
Click the button, then click “Move to Folder”. Pick the folder/group the audience should move to by clicking on the relevant checkbox, then click “Move audience”.
Sharing an audience
Click thebutton, then click “Share audience”. You’ll see a message similar to the one below, confirming you’ve shared your audience with everyone in your organisation.
Renaming an audience
Click thebutton, then click “Rename”. Give your audience an appropriate name, then click Save.
Deleting an audience
Click thebutton, then click the “Delete Audience” button. You’ll see a message asking if you’re sure you want to delete this audience. Click Yes I’m sure (assuming you are).
A word of warning: once you delete an audience it’s gone for good and can’t be recovered. If the audience you delete is a shared audience everyone else in your organization will also lose access.
Mass editing audiences
Like creating a group/folder, just click the checkboxes for the audiences you’d like to edit . You’ll be presented with a number of options, including Move to folder, Create group, Share and Delete. See above for how to use these options.
