🧳 As travel inches its way back to pre-pandemic levels, luggage is coming back on the radar of luxury shoppers. Since the last wave there’s been a 29% increase in the number who’ve bought luxury luggage for themselves, and a 23% increase in the number who’ve bought it for others.
🥾 There’s an ongoing trend of the worlds of sport and luxury becoming increasingly blurred, and signs of it are appearing in our research too. Since the last wave, there’s been a 25% increase in the number who would prioritise buying sportswear as a luxury item, and another 25% increase in the number who would be interested in seeing a luxury collaboration with The North Face.
📉 A number of our different data sets have shown consumers becoming less interested in sustainable topics, and GWI Luxury is showing similar developments. From our question that asks consumers to choose three words they’d most want a luxury brand to be, the words that have had the biggest fall are “sustainable” and “ethical”.
